About us
LIFE ACADEMY, formerly know as Hive Co-op Madison, began simple and small in 2021. A few homeschool moms with a vision for more for their children, for something affordable and local, for a place to inspire creativity and friendships, went out on a prayer and some “I have no clue what we are doing”, and began their fall semester. As the semester progressed, a few things became very evident, this was becoming wildly popular, we had a waiting list and not enough teachers or setup to accommodate more numbers, this was obviously very needed in our area, and our vision would need to grow much larger for the following year. So, in early Spring 2022, the directors sat down and began to plan, dream, and set up what we now know as LIFE ACADEMY! We are excited to officially open the doors with this expanded growth and vision in the Fall of 2022.
We are a 1 day-a-week academy; Thursday’s 9:00am-1:45pm. We are volunteer based to keep costs at a minimum, therefore we require every parent to volunteer for something, whether it’s teaching, teachers aide, cleaning and/or event set up and break down, we have a place for you. We are partnered with Resurrection Life Fellowship, who graciously allow us the use of their brand new building, cover us with their insurance, and any other fees that come with renting a building… this tremendous gift keeps our costs very low.
Our Mission
At Life Academy we seek to create a culture where our students learn, create, and do life together. We teach our students to think critically, express creatively, explore real life skills, and communicate effectively. Our desire is to come alongside families to entrust, encourage, and inspire students to become who God made them to be as a creative, successful, and confident individual. Life Academy is a life skill focused group seeking community, accountability, excellence, and creativity to encourage the unique God-given individuality and education of each child.

The Life Academy community embraces the Apostle’s Creed as our statement of faith and foundation. WE ARE NOT a church and WILL NOT attempt to influence positions of doctrinal belief beyond this scope. Should questions of doctrine arise beyond the scope of what is listed below, the student will be referred to the parents and the home church.
We believe that the Bible (i.e. the Old and New Testaments), is the inspired Word of God, the infallible, all sufficient rule for faith and practice.
